In Dawson’s Creek, Dawson sobs when Joey turns him down for Pacey. The crying wasn’t actually in the script, but was added by James Van Der Beek himself (who played Dawson).
In ginny and georgia, Sara Waisglass (who plays Max) and Humberly González (who plays Sophie) improvised that whole “Did you make a sex playlist?” a little.
In the season 2 finale of Gossip GirlLeighton Meester improvised Blair by asking Chuck to say “I love you” twice.
In how i met your mother, Ted and Robin have tears in their eyes when he tells her to go after Barney in the episode “The Final Page” (season 8, episode 12). The crying was reportedly not in the script, but a personal touch added by Josh Radnor (Ted) and Cobie Smulders (Robin).
In High School Musical: The Musical: The SeriesJoshua Bassett (who plays Ricky) improvised that whole monologue where he tells Nini (Olivia Rodrigo) how much he has loved her since seventh grade.
In teen wolfCrystal Reed (who played Allison) improvised Allison telling Scott (Tyler Posey) that she loves him as he’s dying.
In Our flag means deathTaika Waititi (who plays Blackbeard) threw that little toe tap between himself and Stede (Rhys Darby).
In EuphoriaMuch of that infamous argument between Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) in “Those Who Can’t See Think of Those Who Can” (Season 2, Episode 4) was added by the actors themselves. For example, “I am crazier!“The line was not in the original script.
In one tree hillJames Lafferty reportedly ad-libbed the moment Nathan grabs Haley’s hand and pulls her in after finding out their baby is going to be okay.
Also in one tree hill, the moment when Brooke (Sophia Bush) tells Julian (Austin Nichols) that she is pregnant and they both fall down laughing and crying was not completely scripted. Bush revealed in an episode of the drama queens podcast that they were actually super overcome with emotion while filming the scene.
In veronica mars, Jason Dohring (who played Logan) dropped the line where he jokingly asks Veronica’s dad, “Five more minutes?” while he and Veronica kiss in the car.
In Degrassi: next classAmanda Arcuri (who played Lola) actually forgot her lines while filming the first hallway scene with Eric Osborne (Miles).
And finally, not exactly a partner scene, but it was too good not to include: In riverdaleCasey Cott 100% impromptu Kevin kissing Archie (KJ Apa).
