Amazon doesn’t mess around with the holiday shopping season. Between the retailer’s second Prime Day in early October and its Holiday Beauty Haul event right now, we expect Amazon to continue rolling out early-bird deals ahead of Black Friday, which arrives on November 25 this year.
If you’re worried about inflation this year, Amazon Black Friday deals offer some of the best savings, and they’re coming sooner than ever. If you’re looking for gifts (for yourself or others), there’s a good chance it’s on sale, if it’s not already.

If Amazon’s second Prime Day is any indication, expect something for everyone on your Black Friday list. Some of the best Prime Early Access Sale deals included 10% off the newly released second-generation Apple AirPods Pro, 13% off the iPad Air 2022, and record prices on other Apple products. We also saw great deals on Amazon gift devices like the Kindle Paperwhite and the Amazon Echo Show 8.
Other popular second Prime Day items include Casper pillows, cult beauty products from Laniege, the original Peloton bike, and LG’s 65-inch C1 OLED TV.
Of course, Amazon’s Black Friday sale is a great opportunity to snag Amazon devices. You’ll also find great deals on smart TVs of all sizes and prices. In terms of home and kitchen, expect deals on vacuums from popular manufacturers like Dyson, Shark, and Bissell, as well as kitchen appliances from Ninja, Instant Pot, and KitchenAid.
Last year, Amazon reported a record-breaking Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The retailer says toys, home goods and clothing were its top-selling categories, with standout giveaways including the Revlon One-Step hair dryer, Beats Solo3 headphones and the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote.
When is Amazon Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday 2022 comes on Friday, November 25, the day after Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday 2022 will fall on November 28. While Amazon will certainly be participating in Black Friday, it’s clear that Black Friday deals are already happening now.
Is Prime Day better than Black Friday?
Prime Day brings the lowest prices of the year on Amazon’s own products. Prices for Amazon devices like the Kindle, Fire TV, and Echo are usually the lowest on Prime Day. It’s worth noting that Amazon also owns Ring and Blink, which offer home security systems.
With that said, Prime Day is only for people who have a Prime membership. Black Friday, on the other hand, is open to everyone.
Generally speaking, the discounts are more or less the same between Black Friday and Prime Day. We typically see Prime Day-like pricing on Amazon devices on Black Friday. The biggest difference is that Amazon’s Black Friday sale offers price reductions on a wider range of products and categories. Amazon Black Friday deals include competitive prices on major categories, from smart TVs to mattresses.

Knowing that Amazon tends to give its own devices the biggest discounts, here’s a quick rundown of this year’s most popular devices.
- Kindle: This year, Amazon refreshed its entry-level Kindle model and introduced the new Kindle Scribe, an e-reader you can write on. It’s unlikely these models will see sales since they’re such new releases, but you can expect to see older models like the Kindle Oasis and Paperwhite, down to all-time lows. We’re also hoping to see worthwhile bundle deals, including Amazon e-readers and accessories like cases and Kindle Unlimited.
- echo speakers: While Amazon’s new 5th-gen Echo Dot speakers are unlikely to get much of a discount this year, that means everything 4th-gen and earlier will likely drop to the best prices they’ve seen to date. We often see deals on Echo speakers at all price points bundled with other smart gear like smart light bulbs, Ring doorbells and more.
- FireTV Devices: Amazon also announced a new Fire TV Omni QLED this fall, and you’re likely to see some discounts come Black Friday. However, if you’re looking for even better deals, keep an eye on Amazon’s older TV models and Fire TV streaming sticks – they’ll likely drop to their best prices of the year.
- Ring and Blink Security Cameras: Amazon’s new 2022 range of devices includes the new Ring Spotlight Cam Pro, the Blink Mini Cam Tilt and the Blink Wired Floodlight camera to monitor your home, inside and out. They might drop in price this Black Friday, but if you’re looking for a safe bet, keep an eye on Ring doorbells and older Blink camera models. They often fall to record lows both individually and in the aggregate.
