The beneficiaries
He beneficiaries must be residential consumers placed in your residence (and not in a professional area) electric water heater, having been born before 1he January 2006 and permanently residing in Greece.
While it is noted that:
- Beneficiaries with an average annual income per family member of more than 30,000 euros are not eligible.
- it’s not possible submission of the application for homes, who have submitted an application or joined another energy saving program, such as “Execonomou – Autonomou” or “Execonomou 2021”.
It is clarified that the final selection of beneficiaries will result from a combination of economic and social criteria, such as the average annual income per family member, but also in the case of families with disabled members, single-parent families, with at least one dependent child and families with dependent members.
To provide the subsidy for the purchase of a new solar water heater Mandatory removal for recycling of old water heaters that are being replacedwhose characteristics are:
- Be functional before removal.
- Before their replacement, they must be located in the residence declared in the financing application
- Be electric water heaters with a capacity of ≥ 40 liters

- Each beneficiary will receive a voucher, which they can redeem at the provider of their choice
- Installation costs are also included in the maximum grant amount for recipients.
- The final value of each check depends on the characteristics of the solar water heater (hot water tank capacity), its purchase price and is determined as follows:

How will you apply?
Individuals who wish to participate in the Program submit a financing request through:
- of the Unified Digital Portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr) of article 22 of Law 4727/2020, or
- To submit the application, prior identification of the applicant is required through the personal credentials of the General Secretariat of Information Systems of Public Administrations of the Ministry of Digital Governance (taxisnet), in accordance with article 24 of Law 4727/2020 (A 184).
After identification, the applicant submits an application stating, among other things,
• the 11-digit utility number of the house in which the water heater to be replaced is installed,
• that a solar water heater can be installed in your residence and that there is no restriction by operating regulations (eg apartment building regulations, building operating regulations, etc.),
• The presence or absence of a disabled member in the family, so that the comparison can be made on a case-by-case basis with the data from the Disability Certification Center (KEPA) or, failing that, by presenting the corresponding opinion or certificate of a disability certification health committee or other competent authority, which according to the law must still exercise its powers,
• a unique mobile phone number to be certified by sending a one-time code (OTP), which will be used after any approval of the financing request to send the coupon code, but also for any communication related to the beneficiary. If available, a personal email account can also be declared.
The applicant also confirm the data that are automatically extracted from third-party services and State records related to your request.
The financing request is processed based on
- the data declared-provided by the applicant,
- electronic cross-checks with information from third-party services and state registries, intended to confirm eligibility criteria and calculate selection/ranking criteria for the specific application.
How is recycling done?
Any beneficiary who purchases a new Solar Water Heater with a subsidy is obligated to return the old Solar Water Heater to the supplier for recycling. Delivery is always made to the retailer from whom the new solar water heater will be or has already been purchased.
The beneficiary delivers the old Water Heater for recycling:
- to a repair shop or a partner of the retailer, who picks it up at your home. The collection can be made at the time of delivery of the new Solar Water Heater or in a separate visit,
- alternatively, directly to a facility (store, warehouse) of the retailer, when the transport to this place is the responsibility of the beneficiary.
The choice of the time and point of delivery-reception of the old thermos to be recycled depends on the agreement that the two parties make and does not concern the Program. The costs of transport, placement, collection, etc. they are not eligible.
