The photovoltaic program has a total budget of 200 million euros and subsidizes the installation of a photovoltaic and storage (battery) system. The subsidy of the photovoltaic system it reaches up to 75% for households and 60% for farmers. The battery allowance is 90% and 100%, depending on the income category.

The total subsidy of the photovoltaic system with battery can reach up to 16,000 euros for households and 10,000. Euro for farmers.

The beneficiaries of the program will be able to see savings on their electricity bill of up to 3,000 euros per year.

Special attention is paid to vulnerable households with the allocation of 35 million euros exclusively for them, while a special bonus of 10% is provided for people with disabilities (PWD), single parents and large families.

The main condition for submitting an application is that the applicant have already concluded a Connection Agreement with DEDDIE but the photovoltaic plant has not been connected.

Applications to the program are expected to be made on the gov.gr platform and those interested – beneficiaries must enter it with the codes taxinet.

It is clarified that the natural person can present a single application for a single residence -primary or secondary having an active domestic electricity supply while farmers have the possibility to apply for their residence and only one application for agricultural electricity supply.

For the subsidy of solar water heaters

  • Download and read the Program Guide for related rules and procedures.
  • Submit a Financing Request, through the online platform.
  • If your application is approved, proceed with the issuance of your checks through the electronic platform of the Program.
  • Checks will also be sent to you by SMS. The first check will be used to purchase a new Solar Water Heater, while the second may subsidize the cost of doing additional work to replace the old Electric Water Heater with the new Solar Water Heater (for example, transportation costs, installation of the new solar water heater, or uninstallation of the old water heater, consumables and accessories, etc.).
  • Old water heaters being replaced are required to be removed for recycling in order to subsidize the purchase of a new solar water heater.

How are grant amounts determined?

For sunroof:

The PV system subsidy can be up to 75% for households and 60% for farmers, and the battery subsidy can be 90%-100%. depending on the income category in which the beneficiary falls. These percentages translate as follows:

Households can obtain a subsidy of up to 16,000 euros for the photovoltaic installation with battery and 10,000 euros for farmers and a special bonus of 10% will be given to people with disabilities (PWD), single parents and large families. Specifically:

For vulnerable households of the Social Home Tariff (KOT) the battery is 100% subsidized and the photovoltaic 60% (for powers up to 5kW) and 65% (for powers greater than 10.8kW).

For applicants with an individual income of less than 20,000 euros or family income of less than 40,000 euros, the battery is subsidized at 100% and the photovoltaic at 35% (if it has a power of up to 5 kW) and 25% (for a power of 5 to 10.8 kW).

For citizens with individual income of more than 20,000 euros or family income of less than 40,000 euros, the battery is subsidized at 90%. Photovoltaic 30% (if it has a power of up to 5 kW) and 20% (for a power of 5 to 10.8 kW).

For professional farmers or special status farmers the battery (regardless of capacity) is subsidized by 90% and photovoltaic (regardless of power) by 40%.

Ceiling

The power ceiling of the home system will be 10.8 KW (installation power), according to the “Photovoltaic on the roof” subsidy program. The battery that (mandatory for homes) will accompany the photovoltaic and must be at least equal to the installed power of the photovoltaic plant for 1 hour, with a maximum limit of 10.8 KWh (kilowatt hours).

The photovoltaic plant can be placed on the roof or roof of a building (which also includes canopies, terraces, facades, shade and pergolas), in ancillary areas of the building or agricultural land (eg warehouses and parking lots), or on land. Households will have to install a PV plant with a battery, while farmers can choose to install a PV plant with or without a battery. It is stated that the maximum installed power of the photovoltaic plant to be subsidized is set at 10.8kW. Thus, with regard to the battery, the maximum subsidy is set at 10.8kWh. The battery must be able to supply power to the RES station for at least one hour.
