Marathon Municipality announced the announcement of the organization of trade fairs, thereby publicizing all the important festivities as well as the fairs that will take place in the upcoming period of time in Marathon, Nea Makri and Varnava.
With this notice, the City of Marathon invites all those who desire and are eligible to participate in the City of Marathon trade shows for the year 2023, to submit an application to participate in any of the following trade shows that they desire, as detailed below:
May 4 and 5, 2023 : Fair Trade Ag. Efraín N. Makris in N. Makris. Available places: 30.
May 20 and 21, 2023: Trade Fair of Saints Kon/nos and Eleni, in Nea Makri. Available places: 150.
June 10 and 11, 2023 : Bartholomew and Bernabé Apostles Trade Fair, in Bernabé. Available places: 25.

June 28 and 29, 2023 : Sample Fair of the Apostles Peter and Paul, in Bernabé. Available places: 25
July 6 and 7, 2023 : Fair Trade Aug. Sunday, in Nea Makri. 30 places available.
July 16 and 17, 2023 : Fair Trade Ag. Marinas, in Agia Marina Nea Makri. 180 seats available.
July 26 and 27, 2023 : Fair Trade Ag. Panteleimonos, on the beach of Marathona. Available places: 250.
August 5 and 6, 2023 : Fair of the Transfiguration of the Savior, in Zouberi Nea Makri. 120 places available.
August 14 and 15, 2023 : Market festival of the Dormition of the Virgin in Mati N. Makris. 100 places available.
August 28 and 29, 2023 : Fair Trade Ag. John the Baptist in Marathon. Available places: 300.
Those interested will fill out the attached application, which they will accompany with the necessary supporting documents, and send it to the Municipality’s email address: info@marathon.gr or to the Protocol Services of the Municipal Stores of Marathon or N. Makris , from the day of its publication of this announcement on the website of the municipality until the eve of the start of each fair.
In the event that the eve of the start of a fair coincides with a weekend or holiday, the requests will be submitted until the business day before the eve.
The fairs in which the interested parties wish to participate must be indicated in the application.
The width of the seats is four (4) m., with the possibility of being less in some cases, depending on the restrictions of some points.
Assignment seats are available as is.
ITEMS PERMITTED FOR SALE ARE:
Ecclesiastical items, Books – stationery, folk art items, linen items – dowry items, gift and decorative items, silverware and trinkets, handmade household items, clothing – footwear items, clothing accessories, artificial and dried flowers and plants, cosmetic items. -fries, etc., dining items, electronics, Pet Shop items, recreational games.
Produce and processed foods:
Olives, walnuts, chestnuts, legumes, walnuts, grape leaves, pumpkin flowers, corn, bottled olive oil, bottled wine, household products (such as dairy products, jams, spoon sweets, traditional pasta, herbs, spices), standardized honey, sugary products that are preserved without refrigeration, types of puff pastry and dough preparations, etc.
It is clarified that the sale of items that cause public embarrassment or may cause accidents to young or old, as well as bulky merchandise that may hinder transit through the fairgrounds and that, in general, cause inconvenience to other merchants, is not allowed.
PARTICIPATION PROCEDURE
Interested parties will submit an application – responsible declaration of participation accompanied by copies:
- Police Identity Document or Valid Passport or Residence Permit.
- The license that you have according to the category to which you belong or the Activity Certificate. Especially in the case of an Itinerant Trade Permit, a copy of the corresponding Activity Authorization of the respective Region must be attached.
- The Health Book (health certificate), in the case of food distribution.
Especially in the case of outdoor recreational activities, the supporting documents that are now required for the police identity card are the activity certificate with its TACHIS changes, a responsible declaration of a graduate engineer from a higher school and a certificate suitability for all. recreational media units in accordance with the provisions of the law and the pertinent provisions from which will result, among other things, the type of equipment as well as the dimensions of the required operating space, in order for the competent commission to examine its location.
Taking into account the above and the provisions of Law 4849/2021 “Reform and modernization of the regulatory framework for the organization and operation of outdoor trade, the rules for the exercise of recreational activities and the simplification of the framework of activities in the field of education, improvements in the chamber’s legislation, other provisions of the Ministry of Development and Investment and other urgent provisions” (Official Gazette 207/Α΄/5-11-2021), the expected charges are distributed as follows:
a) At a rate of 75%, to the holders of “Certificate of Activity of Annual Duration in the short-term markets”.
b) At a rate of 10%, to producer-seller and professional-seller licensees who operate in public markets.
c) With a rate of 10%, to the holders of a license to operate in posts or itineraries.
d) At a rate of 5%, to holders of a craftsman-artist license.
Applications will be sent to the Town of Marathon email address: information@marathon.Gram or in the Protocol Services of the Municipality of Marathon, necessarily accompanied by all the required vouchers, by the interested parties personally or by an authorized person, who must present the written authorization certified by the KEP or Police Department, the signature of the authorizer.
Applications with incomplete supporting documents, as well as late applications, will be rejected.
The fee for the use of the common area is:
1) For the Communities of Marathon and Nea Makri: twenty (20) €/m2.
2) For the Varnavas and Grammatiko Communities: four and a half (4.5) € / m2.

In the deposit of the corresponding amount, the reason must be indicated (for example, fees for the use of the common space for Emporopanigiri ……. ) and the complete data of the applicant (name, surname, AFM).
