Three days of rain: where the bad weather will hit in the next few days

In most regions of the country, an increase in intermittent cloudiness is forecast, with local rains mainly in the central and northern areas. Local showers and possibly isolated storms will occur in the morning in the central and northern areas and in the afternoon in the mainly mountainous continental areas.

The meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust mainly towards the south.

Winds will blow west from directions easterly 3 to 5 in the south Ionian locally 6 Beaufort and east north northeast 4 to 5 in the Aegean locally 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly in the east and will reach 18 to 19 degrees in the center and north and 20 to 22 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.

MACEDONIA, THRACIA

Weather: In western and central Macedonia, increasing clouds with local showers or showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms. Recession of phenomena from the afternoon. In eastern Macedonia and Thrace, temporary increase in clouds, with local rain until late afternoon.

Temperature: From 14 to 22 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus the maximum is 3 to 5 degrees lower.

THESSALY, EASTERN CONTINENT, EASTERN PELOPONNISO

Weather: Intermittent increase in cloudiness with local rains. Local showers and possible isolated electrical storms will occur in the north and noon – afternoon in the mountains. Recession of phenomena from the afternoon.

Winds: East northeast 3 to 5 and local south 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 13 to 22 degrees Celsius. In the north the maximum is 3 to 4 degrees lower.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Scattered clouds, occasionally thicker with occasional local showers.

Winds: North 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 14 to 21 degrees Celsius.

EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANIZED

Weather: Scattered clouds at thicker intervals with the possibility of temporary local showers.

Winds: North 4 to 5 to local north 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 15 to 22 degrees Celsius. In the north the maximum is 2 to 3 degrees lower.

EUBOEA

Weather: Intermittent increase in cloudiness. Chance of light rain.

Winds: Northeast 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 13 to 21 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA

Weather: Intermittent increase in cloudiness, with the possibility of temporary light rains.

Winds: North northeast 4 to 5 and local east 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 14 to 21 degrees Celsius.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Increase in cloudiness with rain or showers and possibly isolated electrical storms in the morning. Recession of phenomena from the afternoon.

Winds: Southeast 2 to 4 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 14 to 18 degrees Celsius.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW THURSDAY 11-05-2023

A temporary increase in clouds is forecast across the country, with local rain initially over western Greece and gradually over the rest of the continent, Evia, the Sporades and Crete. Sporadic thunderstorms will initially occur in the northern Ionian and mainly in the midday and afternoon hours in the continental highlands. At night the effects will weaken and be limited to the north.

Winds will blow west from southerly directions 3 through 5 Beaufort and easterly from northerly directions 4 through 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change appreciably. It will reach 18 to 19 degrees in the central and northern zone and 20 to 22 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.

FORECAST FOR FRIDAY 12-05-2023

In the west, central and northern clouds temporarily increased with rain or local showers and improved overnight. In the rest of the country, generally sunny with some passing clouds.

Locally reduced visibility in the morning and afternoon hours, mainly in continental areas.

Winds will blow west from south directions 3 to 5 Beaufort and east from north directions 4 to 5 and in the Aegean temporarily to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise slightly in the west and south.

FORECAST FOR SATURDAY 05-13-2023

Scattered clouds gradually thickening in the west and north with local showers and sporadic thunderstorms in the northwest.

The winds will blow in the west from the south directions 4 to 6 and in the Ionian gradually from 6 to 7 Beaufort. In the east, 4 to 6 Beaufort winds will blow from the north.

The temperature will not change appreciably.

FORECAST FOR SUNDAY 05-14-2023

In the west and gradually in the center and north cloudiness temporarily increasing with local showers and isolated storms with gradual improvement from the afternoon and from the west. In the rest of the country, little cloudiness. Westward transport of African dust is favoured.

Winds will be out of the south from the south 5 to 6 and Ionian 7 and possibly locally 8 Beaufort with a slight weakening overnight. In the east, 4 to 6 Beaufort winds will blow from the north.

The temperature will rise.

PROSPECTS FOR MONDAY 05-15-2023

Temporarily thicker thin clouds initially in the west and north and gradually over the rest of the continent. Local rain will occur in the northwest.

Winds will blow in the west from the south directions 4 to 6 and in the Ionian temporarily up to 7 Beaufort. In the east they will blow from the north directions 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually weak variables.

The temperature will rise even more.
