We’ve had some pretty decent Wordles lately. I always prefer the more challenging words. Wordle is a pretty straightforward game compared to more challenging puzzles like Spelling Bee, so the harder the word, the better. Today’s is definitely more complicated than most.
I welcome the challenge. I am finally overcoming this two week cold and as the brain fog clears I want to be challenged. That was certainly not the case when I went to black Adam, a superhero movie that promised to turn the DC Extended Universe upside down but that, effectively, is just another formulated failure. The only challenging thing about the movie was staying awake (something my teenage daughter was unable to do, as she fell asleep halfway through). can you read my black adam review here, or watch my review video below:
Many of the problems with bad TV and mediocre movies these days can be traced back to bad writing. As someone who values writing above all else, I guess I’m a bit biased in that regard. But I do think, fundamentally, that these studios are paying big bucks for big, flashy special effects and skimping on the script. There are a lot of great writers out there, but their talents are clearly not taken into account. The script, it seems, is not considered as important as the CGI. When you’ve got the bulging biceps of The Rock, who cares about a great story, right?
Wrong! there is a reason Jumanji it was a success. The script was solid and gave the cast a lot of great material to work with. It allowed The Rock to shine in ways that black adam it just can’t match. What a shame.
In any case, we have a Wordle to solve. I’ll stop lamenting the state of modern cinema and move on. . . .

I feel pretty good about this one. Four is not ideal, the back half of the guessing roll just has a red tape feel, but this was a tricky word!
I was very lucky with my initial guess, but still, getting to the final answer took time. Calm (like in A peaceful place, which you should see ASAP if you haven’t already) deleted all but 32 words.
I immediately thought of a guess that I was very hopeful was the correct answer, since it was the only one I could think of: Boss, however, he didn’t even get me another letter. I accommodated klieg to guess #3, which is a type of lamp used in movies, which luckily gave me a yellow ‘L’.
Once I put that ‘L’ in the final box, I immediately thought of roll, and luckily for me, was the answer. Hurrah!
So yeah, that’s a difficult word that didn’t come to me very quickly. It got faster to Wordle Bot, the villain of this story, who guessed blackboard / wheel / spiel which, I don’t know, seems tremendously lucky to me.
