by The Game Awards will take place in about a week as of this writing. This is a time for gamers and the gaming industry to celebrate the past year in the game. Fans can vote for their favorite games, esports teams, content creators and more, and studios show off new trailers and make announcements.
It’s a win-win for almost everyone. Well, Valve wants to make the event even better for you. Every minute of The Game Awards live stream will feature Valve giving a Steam Deck to one lucky viewer! The Game Awards are not a short show. Last year the event lasted about 3 hours! That means Valve can expect to give away approximately 180 Steam Decks! And it’s the 512GB version that’s the top-of-the-line model!
How will this raffle work? You can read the official rules, but I’ll try to break it down. First of all, there are two ways to enter. The first is by going to Steam and registering for the giveaway. Then you have to watch The Game Awards live on December 8 via Steam (at steam.tv). Every minute, a name from the registered group will be put in the chat and that will be the winner. One caveat to all of this is that you must live in Canada, the EU, the UK, or the US. Another caveat is that you must have made a purchase on Steam between November 14, 2021 and November 14, 2022. Other rules are that you must be in good standing and not have a limited account.
The other way to enter is to mail a 4″x6″ note with your name, address, city, state, country, zip code, email address, Steam account name (this account may be limited or unlimited), telephone number, and the name and date of the Giveaway (The Game Awards 2022 Giveaway) to Valve. They must be postmarked on or before December 8 and received by Valve before December 19.

The chances of winning will be the same regardless of the method you use. This is big enough to watch The Game Awards via Steam in hopes of winning one of these bad boys. In case you need a refresher, the Steam Deck is essentially a portable PC with everything you need to play your favorite games on the go. I’ve heard great things about Steam Deck and hopefully one day I’ll be able to try it out. Will you be trying to win one of these bad boys?
